Is it possible for an image to have an anniversary ?
When you’re perusing through the pages of Football Shooters it's most certainly is possible !
As a practice, we almost never post all of the photos taken at any event. So site visitors always have
something to look forward to, especially when some of the games seen by spectators and played in
by now former athletes were great and unforgettable contests.
As one visitor to our site mentioned “It’s never too late to make a new memory from an old photo .”
With that in mind, we take you back 10 years to New York City circa 2006. It was a time when a few
teams jumped across the start line early in the season and simply chewed up all challengers like a
couple of junk yard dogs who’d caught a few trespassers on the wrong side of the property line.
Two of the squads which played epic ball early and consistently in the 2006 season were the
Pirates of Tottenville and The Kangaroos from Brooklyn’s Boys High.
When all of the smoke cleared by regular season’s end these two beasts where found facing each
other on short chains at the 50 yard line of Bowl title game !
Happy 10th Anniversary !
If the 2006 Bowl game was top shelf, you can believe
that the cup game was no less spectacular,
In fact, since both games were played on the same
field the Bowl athletes were actually in the stands
watching how their Cup counter parts play the game.
We don't know but it definitely seemed as though the
Cup athletes actually set the bar real high for the
game that followed. These players, who had every bit
the exciting season as the Bowl warriors did came from
Long Island City ( home of the 5 points) and State
Island as well.
The teams who lined up for the coin toss were the
Seagulls of MSIT and the Bull Dogs from LIC,
If anyone had any doubts as to weather either of these
squads belonged there, that doubt was erased from
the very first kick off.
Think we're kidding, see for yourself !
