FOOTBALL SHOOTERS.COM
FINALLY, A SITE DEDICATED TO FOOTBALL PHOTOGRAPHY !!!!
THE CHEERING SECTION
Hopefully the positivity will last as the twirlers start their two-a-day sessions
next week. Double sessions, affectionately known as “ Hell Week” amongst
football players serves to bring athletes into shape for an upcoming season.
Why would twirlers need to be in good shape?
Well, as the senior twirlers tell us, twirling is actually more similar to dance
than most folks realize. When you consider that the girls must often perform
routines back to back, in boots on grass fields you begin to realize the need
for the stamina which they speak of.
No doubt, the enthusiasm and high energy of the twirler’s captains will
continue to be infectious and have a good effect an already close knit team
who wants to do nothing more than support their football team!

as second thought to all of the who line
preparation put in by the cheer squads
their teams .who line the side lines in
support of their teams .
Shedding a little light on the subject,
we decided to visit the summer
practices of the Teaneck Flag Twirlers
as they ran through their paces in the
pre-noon sun.
The faces of veteran and rookie
twirlers alike were aglow as groups of
new twirlers learned the routines on
the track which surrounds the football
field.

The Teaneck captains are especially pleased with the positive and hard
working attitudes of the new recruits. In fact the captains tell us that while

It's About Support !
During a recent scrimmage at Paterson
Catholic between the Cougars and
Teaneck's Highwaymen we looked over the
barrel of our lens and were pleasantly
surprised to see a group of Teaneck's
Twirlers on the sidelines.
What came to mind was what one of the
Twirler captains said to us during an August
interview. When asked about why the squad
was imposing two weeks of grueling training
in the hot sun on itself one of the seniors let
us know that it was to ensure that the team
was ready for the rigors of the season.
(see article below)
She let us know that nothing was more important to the Twirlers than the support of the
football team. Every thing they do is geared towards helping them to encourage the
football team. She added, "It's about being there for them, it's about support"
So it was our pleasure to see a sizeable entourage of Twirlers at the scrimmage to
support the football team, something which is rarely,if ever, done.
Way to go ladies. Keep up the great work!

We were pleased to see recently that cheer squads were also ready for the season
with plenty of team spirit ! We look forward to continued coverage of Twirlers and
cheerleaders for the season.

NEW !
STILL THERE
are the various cheer
squads who have been
right there all along and
who continue to lead the
crowds even as temps
start to dip. The recent
game between Don
Bosco and Teaneck is a
good example of this.
Chilly night temps didn't
hinder either squad as
they performed in support
of their teams. The same
can be said of the
cheerleaders all through
the PSAL. Keep up the
good work!
