The beginnings of a rivalry

Traditional team rivalries exist
in all sports and on all
levels,yes, even in pro sports.
There is no set formula for
knowing exactly how they
begin but they usually include
a pivotal moment which is
quite memorable to at least
one teams involved, probably
both. From that point on it's
not hard to see that a rivalry
can take on a life of it's own.

On Saturday night when Teaneck hosted West Milford it was announced that this was
the first time that these schools had ever played each other. Considering the rock-em
sock-em games that took place between these two over the weekend we see how
rivalries are born.
Monday's junior varsity game between the schools was similar to Saturday night's
varsity battle. Once again both teams played " Refuse to loose" ball for four quarters.

However in this outcome Teaneck pulled out the a "W" in the final seconds of the
game.
To be sure, each of these teams will not soon forget the tough play of the other.
Who knows, maybe a healthy yet respectful school rivalry has been born?
