FINALLY, A SITE DEDICATED TO FOOTBALL PHOTOGRAPHY !!!!
RESPECT FOR A WORTHY OPPONENT
Article:
This is a time in the season when teams may loose a game but still remain in the
running for a playoff spot. In the midst of a dramatic loss coaches have the opportunity
to exercise the poise, calmness and dignity which helps to guide their young wards
through the adversity of the loss, for this they are to be commended.
Saturday while this scene was playing out after the Dewitt Clinton/ JFK game
something special happened right there on the 50 yard line where players from the
opposing teams met to shake hands after the game.
of embrace there was simply nothing else left to be said because they both know one
thing:
" Here is a man who played me fair, hard and tough for 60 minutes of rugged football
and I respect him!"
When this unscripted show of maturity happens ( yes we've seen it before ) it lets the
onlooker know that these athletes are growing from boys into men. Because of the
work of the coaches and the people in their lives these young men are growing in the
right direction.
As for the game itself, it did not fall short of the game play which we were promised by
one of the Clinton players who requested that we attend the game. There was plenty
of rock-em-sock-em action to go around as the teams played the kind of back and
forth football which kept the crowd on its feet for most of the game.
The stands were full for both teams. Not only are both teams doing great to this point
in the season but it was also Clinton's homecoming game. Add to that most
importantly that the game pitted one Bronx team against another and you can easily
see how the game was a standing room only venue.!
Game shots will be posted soon.
